That’s the moment I long for, the day’s gentle close, When shadows unfold and the night softly shows. Soon the dark clouds gather to the ocean's deep beat, “Wish wash, wish wash,” as the waves kiss the shore’s feet. The wind whirls above, setting the sea in a dance, While flying fish leap in a shimmering trance. I find joy in watching the shadows draw near, Maybe it’s the stormy cloud that makes me feel safe. Or perhaps it’s the sound of the waves as they crash, The pounding, relentless, a welcome, wild splash. I sit on a giant rock, gazing out at the sea, As the sun fades away, I wonder what will be.
