Meet Alphanso: Oahu, Hawaii, United States; Welcome to my blog! I’m Alphanso Appleton, AKA Fonzie! a survivor of the Liberian civil war and the Ebola epidemic. Through the personal trauma of these experiences, including the heartbreaking loss of my young daughter due to a misdiagnosis, I found solace in surfing and photography. I also enjoy writing! These passions not only aided my healing but also inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others in my community recover from devastation. Now, as a graduate with a BSW in social work, I’m excited to pursue further education in this field. Join me on my journey as I share my experiences and commitment to being a positive influence for families facing their own challenges.
